Welcome!

I am an incoming Assistant Professor at University of Porto’s School of Economics and Management.

I do research in political economy and development, with a focus on informal institutions, education, and culture. In one paper, I study how inter-ethnic integration shapes social learning among high schoolers in Macedonia. In a different paper in the same segregated high schools, I study how language skills matter during inter-ethnic contact. This work is supported by J-PAL, The Pearson Institute, and the Becker Friedman Institute. See my research here.

I earned my PhD from the University of Chicago in 2025, and my BA from Brown University in 2017. In 2025-2026 I was a Weatherhead Scholar at Harvard University.
